DAVID S. ROLFE
Prior to law school, Mr. Rolfe was a U.S. Navy Diver, 1st class and then
Saturation Diver. He was in the U.S. Navy from 1974 through 1979.
He has been appearing in courts in Colorado since 1987. Mr. Rolfe clerked with one of the country’s best-known criminal defense
attorneys while in law school and then concentrated on establishing a
varied civil law practice following his graduation from the University
of Denver College of Law in 1987. He handled significant
construction defect cases as well as a number of homeowner's association
cases before moving on to the Colorado Public Defender's Office in
Denver. He eventually practiced both Civil and Criminal Law for a
downtown Denver firm before moving his practice to Parker in 1990.
He began to practice in the area of Domestic Relations in 1989 and has
continued to specialize in Domestic Relations, Criminal Defense, Real
Estate litigation and Mediation since that time.
Recognizing that clients should be the
foremost thought of any law firm, Mr. Rolfe moved his practice to
Parker, Colorado in 1990. As his expertise developed, Mr. Rolfe
came to recognize that the earlier cases settled the less damage occurred
to the families and the better the outcome for the client. As a
direct result, Mr. Rolfe began exploring and developing more of his
practice in the area of mediation and other roles, such as child's legal representative, decision maker,
parenting coordinator, etc. He has come to emphasize Mediation and
Early Neutral Evaluation as a central focus of his personal practice
while the law firm continues to represent family law and criminal
clients. Mr. Rolfe is still actively involved in the more complex
of those cases on a case-by case basis. Additionally, his extensive
experience in mediation is a tremendous asset in his family law practice
as mediation is a required component of every dissolution case and
guiding our own clients through mediation is a component of
representation for all our family law clients. Mr. Rolfe is a
strong proponent of mediation which is designed to lessen the impact of
divorce on our client and thus the family while giving the parties personal
control over the outcome of their case. (To learn more about
the roles mentioned above, just click on the "Article" tab of

Mr. Rolfe has served as both a
committee member and arbitrator for the Denver and Colorado Fee
Arbitration Committee. He currently sits on the Colorado Bar
Association Fee Arbitration Committee. He takes court appointments
as Special Master, Mediator, Arbitrator,
Child's Legal Representative, Parenting Coordinator and Decision
Maker. He has created and currently coordinates the Elbert County
Pro Se Mediation Clinic, volunteers pro bono mediation for civil
disputes in Douglas County, both runs and participates in a pro bono
mediation clinic in Elbert County for family law matters, is a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation
Courts (AFCC), and a Charter member of the Colorado Chapter (COAFCC), a
member of the MDIC, the Metropolitan Denver Interdisciplinary Committee
which is a group of mental health professionals, attorneys and mediators
working to help children and parents through divorce. He is a

of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as the Colorado Bar Association (CBA),
