Profiles
Carolyn C. Wiley
Ms. Wiley has been practicing law
in Colorado since May 2006. Excited about the possibility of
returning to a fast-paced litigation caseload and a collegial atmosphere,
Ms. Wiley joined David S. Rolfe, LLC, as an associate attorney in 2010.
Prior to joining David S. Rolfe, LLC,
Ms. Wiley owned her own firm, Wiley Legal Counsel, LLC which she founded
at the request of several clients. There, Ms. Wiley's work focused
on estate planning, probate, and business advising. Ms. Wiley
continues to work in these areas at David S. Rolfe, LLC, in addition to
practicing family law and criminal law. Specifically, she advises
businesses from start-up through the complexities of conversion to new
entities, drafts a range of contractual agreements for them, and
frequently provides general legal advice to businesses as they prepare
for new growth phases. She also advises families and individuals
regarding their estate plans, tailoring plans to meet specific client
needs. Representative clients include a young, divorced mother who
wants to make sure her child is properly provided for in the event of
her death; wealthy grandparents who need certain trust agreements and
intricate tax planning' and middle-aged spouses who have adult children
and want the peace of mind that comes with knowing that there is a tailored
plan in place for their spouse and children.
Prior to founding Wiley Legal Counsel,
LLC, Ms. Wiley worked for one of her former law school professors at his
private firm. She gained substantial experience as a general
practitioner in commercial and intellectual property litigation, probate
litigation, and landlord-tenant litigation. She also worked
heavily in trusts and estate planning, probate advising, contract negotiations,
and drafting commercial agreements.
Ms. Wiley graduated from the University
of Denver with dual degrees: a masters of arts in international studies
and a juris doctorate. At the University of Denver, Ms. Wiley
received scholarships for her human rights interests, two scholastic
excellence awards, and competed on the award winning Jessup International
Moot Court traveling team. She interned in Denver District Court
for the Honorable Martin F. Egelhoff, and in Canada for Hatchcos
Holdings International, a multinational infrastructure, energy,
engineering, mining and metallurgy company. Ms. Wiley has a
Bachelor of Arts degree from Saint Olaf College.
