Special Master

A Special Master is appointed by the Court, generally for a single specific issue.  The Special Master is often requested by the parties due to the particular expertise to serve on a particular case and decide issues in order to expedite the case through the court system.  A Special Master makes recommended findings which are then reviewed by a Court before the can become an Order.

If you would like to review the statutory authority, view the Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure C.R.C.P. 53 at www.court.state.co.us.
